Parent and Child Education Program (PACE)
This unique program allows our students in grades Aleph through Hay, and their parents, an opportunity to share valued learning experiences.
How does it work? Students come to school at 9:15 a.m. and report to their classrooms.
At 9:30 AM either the child’s parent, grandparent, or other designated family adult member goes to the child’s classroom to pick up the student and then both report to the upstairs synagogue. There the participants will be divided into smaller groups to both learn and work on activities that revolve around our first theme, entitled “Connecting to Our Jewish Soul.” We will learn about the meaning of chalah, the wearing of a tallit, the lighting of candles, and much more. The girls will actually prepare chalah and receive candlesticks; the boys will make the fringes for the tallit, and much more. All adults will actively assist their children. Dismissal will be at 11:15.
There will be regular classes for students whose families do not wish to participate.
