"JewishMerrickBellmore" is a community-wide group e-mail list intended for general announcements and messages of interest to Jews of all (or even none of the) denominations & their friends in the Merrick/Bellmore area. This list is intended to allow members of the community to communicate with one another. This email list was designed for THREE general purposes:

1 - To enable local synagogues and Jewish organizations to convey information regarding their programs, events and schedules to the community.
2 - To help increase the Jewish population of our area.
3 - To enable local individuals to post anything Jewish-related in the community. The following are examples of emails that would be appropriate:

(A) events both in & out of the community which may be of interest to members of the Merrick & Bellmore Jewish community
(B) general information which may be useful to members of the Merrick & Bellmore Jewish Community
(C) lost and found
(D) information about sports leagues and/or other appropriate social events (E) parlor meeting at your house
(F) requests for community action on behalf of Jewish issues.
(G) short targeted letter-writing campaigns for Jewish issues, etc.
(H) other questions or information to your neighbors in the community like house for sale, looking for housekeeper looking for tutor, need a ride, etc.
(I) community blood drives
(J) shiva notices
(K) Tehillim Requests

The following are examples of emails that aren't appropriate for this list: (1) jokes (2) auctions (3) offensive or disparaging emails (4) commercial or business postings and (5) Lashon Hara.
Please sign your name to all emails.

- whose children attended the JCC at the Merrick Jewish Center
- whose niece recently graduated from Beth El's nursery school
