Passover 2008

Passover workshop and charoset bowl.

Dear Parents,
Excitement is growing as we get closer to the Passover Holiday.
Last Sunday our K'ton-ton through Daled classes attended the Matzoh Factory at the Oceanside JCC. On Monday, Rabbi Wohlberg made a special Passover Presentation to the Hebrew School.
This past Sunday we had a wonderful day as our younger classes had a special hands-on Passover Workshop and our older classes enthusiastically exhibited their Passover knowledge in the Charoset Bowl, topped off by music time with our teacher Jeff Beris.
Students are still crafting lovely items to bring home for the Seder, and we are already preparing for our Model Seder this Wednesday.
Our students look forward with enthusiasm to participating in their family Seders, and have been encouraged to discuss with their parents taking naps during the day so they can stay up to learn and enjoy.
Best wishes for a Happy Kosher Passover.

Chometz Burning 2008

When: Friday morning, April 18, from 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Where: Congregation Ohav Sholom Parking Lot

What: Biyur Chometz, the burning of the remaining leaven found during the previous night's search.

Although it is early in the morning, it is a great opportunity for our children to participate. I think our children will have a great time. It is early so that we can do it before work and school.

Bring your chometz to be burned. All members of Ohav Sholom and the greater Jewish Community are welcome.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The search for leaven. Bedikas Chometz, occurs Thursday, April 17, 2008 after nightfall. This is the "feather and spoon" activity that all children love!
Bring your Chometz to be burned on Friday morning, April 18, 7:00-9:00 AM.
